This season, I’m turning over a new leaf in my life. I’ve been away from my blog for some time now. Things in my life have been rapidly changing and yesterday I celebrated my 20th birthday. I thought today’s post would be best suited sharing my mini birthday shoot and a couple updates on my life and where I aim to be.
What I’ve Been up to Lately
The past couple months I’ve been shooting pageants with a company called Superior Pageant Productions. We’ve gone to a couple states now including West Virginia, Indiana, Connecticut, Vermont and coming up this weekend, Pittsburgh.I’ve gained a lot of great memories from these trips and immense growth. I learned new things I didn’t know about photography and gained insight into the industry from those I’ve worked with. I feel extremely grateful in having that opportunity.
My months have been filled with real world practice in the photography/cinematography field. I’ve shot collectively a couple weddings, engagement pictures and events. Through these experiences I’ve been able to get an inside look at what it’s like to work as a freelance photographer/cinematographer. I’ve struggled through it at times and thrived other days. Altogether I feel invigorated and energized. I’m more than ready to bring what I have to the table. I’m ready to jump in and let my creativity shine through my work.
Where I’m Going
I’m currently making arrangements to obtain an Associates Degree in Video Production. With this curriculum I hope to gain all the skills and knowledge I need to successfully work as a cinematographer. My greatest passion in life is capturing the feelings you can’t put words to through video. I find great satisfaction in artfully laying them out through footage accompinied with music. A brides special wedding day, the overwhelming happiness a new mother feels or the wild spirit of an adventurer flying across the country to escape their 9-5 job.
Whatever the life event, I wish to capture it and deliver it the way it feels in your mind as you experience it. In the next coming months as I work to earn my degree in video production I will continue to do freelance work and take on as many projects as I can. To follow along with my journey continue to read my blog and take a peek at my show on YouTube called CliffNotes. Until next time.
