If you haven’t noticed, his and hers posts have been quickly becoming a mainstay on this blog. Hopefully you guys are loving all the couple fashion inspiration! In today’s his and hers post I’m showing off our version of dressing up for a fun evening together. Read on to see how we dressed to the nines for date night in Charleston! And yes, my version of this doesn’t include heels! 😀
Dressed to the Nines for Date Night in Charleston
I decided to channel my inner Blair Waldorf a little here with a headband and updo! I used to love watching this show back in high school, specifically because of the fashion! With this look I’m wearing a high neck bodysuit, which also gives a Blair vibe, given the high neck. I love it because of both the high neck and because its velvet! I found it last fall and have been wearing it constantly ever since! Over top of my high neck bodysuit is a maxi skirt you’ve probably seen a handful of times on the blog if you’re a regular reader. To finish off the look I opted for comfort (what’s new?) and wore my favorite pair of Jack Rogers. Since we were going to be in the city and doing a lot of walking, I figured they would be both practical and cute!
Can we also take a moment to appreciate the fact that I actually wore lipstick too? Another rare occurrence over here on my blog.. 😀 I think this look is perfect for a date night in the city because it’s easy to walk around in but also looks fancy and cute. Updos and maxi skirts for some reason tend to give off that vibe to me when paired together. For your next date night, try this fun combo I’m wearing bellow and pair a bodysuit with a maxi skirt. I think you’ll love the way it looks. 🙂
Stefan likes fashion but made simple. So if you want to dress in a way that looks good but doesn’t require a whole lot of thought, follow this simple formula! Wear chino shorts with a short sleeve button down and a pair of boat shoes. Done! While it may look like something a frat guy may wear, we think it looks good regardless! Not to mention the fact Charleston is not short of preppy style clothes, so he kind of decided to dress like the locals for the night.
Want to give it a pop of individual style? Try experimenting with cool shirt patterns or wear a hat! Stefan bought this Adidas hat maybe a summer or two ago? We found it shopping in the South Side in an Urban Outfitters. It breaks up the preppy look to give a slight unexpected twist.
