Ever notice how our habits and routines change as colder weather comes around? As someone who once loved to watch YouTube fall routine videos, I felt it only natural to create one in post form. This fall season I’ve adapted some new habits to help keep my stress levels down. Even as I sit here writing posts, I have new habits I’m implementing to stay happy and relaxed! Not to mention there’s different food, fashion and things to do that I’ve been so excited to try this September! To get inspired for fall, read my post today on the habits and routines I’m implementing for fall. 🙂

The Habits and Routines I’m Implementing for Fall
1. Making different warm drinks at home
My favorite ones to make? Various flavors of hot chocolate, apple cider and caramel macchiatos! Pinterest is the source of my inspiration filled with so many great recipes!
2. Spending an hour before bed to unwind
This fall as it feels only natural to snuggle up under blankets indoors, I’m trying to spend more time unwinding before bed. I like to sip on a warm drink and relax my mind, work on my Instagram, whatever allows my mind to feel at ease. 🙂
3. Cooking warm meals at home with Stefan
As we attempt to cut down on our eating out, we try to cook more at home! Stefan and I used to not play nice in the kitchen (lol 😀 ) but now we work together like a well oiled machine. I love experimenting with new recipes and cooking a meal I can’t wait to dive into!
4. Taking walks through pretty neighborhoods in Pittsburgh, on the weekend
I find that the fall weather is perfectly ideal for taking walks. It’s not hot or too cold, making it a growing weekend tradition of mine and Stefan’s. I love to sip on a cup of coffee and talk about whatever’s on my mind with him, it’s so relaxing! 🙂
5. Picking apples from my tree
Every fall I feel increasingly thankful for the three apple trees in the front of my yard. I love grabbing a basket and picking up freshly fallen apples. Growing them from home makes a world of a difference in taste. Nothing compares to it which is why I look forward to doing this every fall!
6. Taking baths with my cinnamon bath bombs
Who else loves to conclude the night with a hot bath? For me, this is a year round routine. However, I particularly enjoy using pumpkin spice and cinnamon scented bath bombs in the fall. They smell heavenly and I get them from a local vendor in the Strip District of Pittsburgh.
7. Watching movies with candles lit and the lights out
Again, candles are perfect year round for relaxation but they’re even better to me during the cold months! I find it incredibly relaxing to light a candle or two on my coffee table and lay down to watch a movie or work on my laptop. Most of all, I love the candle scents you can find during this season!
8. Sifting through thrift store racks for unique fall clothes
Its been a more recent habit of mine to thrift shop. I give Buffalo Exchange most of the credit! They’re a consignment shop also selling vintage clothes. This shop made me want to venture into thrift shopping and that I did! It’s so fun to pick through racks of clothes and see what you can find, not to mention the prices are perfect.
9. Curating a pantry filled with seasonal foods
Because, what else are you supposed to eat in fall? Lol excuse me while I laugh at myself.. 😀 In all seriousness though, there are a couple foods I stock up on in fall. I love Chobani’s pumpkin greek yogurt, apple cider in K-cups from Target, the Pillsbury Halloween sugar cookies and candy corn m&m’s, to name a few!
10. Listening to the Legendary playlist on Spotify
I love particular types of music even more depending on the season. Does anyone else change their taste in music a little based on time of year? Maybe I’m just silly, lol. 😀 I really get into 60’s-70’s classic rock in the fall and my favorite playlist with this music is called “Legendary,” created by Spotify. It has music from The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, The Beach Boys, etc.
