Wedding season is upon us and so is scrambling for the perfect wedding guest outfit. This wedding season it’s becoming increasingly likely that you may be invited to a barn wedding. They’re extremely trendy right now and honestly I couldn’t be happier about it. I myself plan when the day has come, to have a barn wedding as well! They just feel so much more casual and intimate, plus I love the whole rustic look. 🙂
Since the chances are high you may be going to one this year, I thought it would only be appropriate to write a post containing outfit ideas for the occasion! The fact that I just bought a pair of cowboy boots this week may also have a little something to do with this decision as well.. 😀
Steps in crafting the perfect barn wedding guest outfit
1. Choose the perfect dress
The perfect dress will be different for everyone, but for me it’s this gem I found at Target. I love the print on it specifically. It’s bohemian and western and I think it just works perfectly for a barn wedding. Best yet I snagged this dress for only $24! 🙂 Other dresses I think would be adorable are this one, this and this dress. When it comes to a barn wedding your best bet is to stick with western and boho style dresses!
2. Find a pair of cowboy boots
Obviously the most important part of the outfit would be the cowboy boots! I found this really cute pair at Macy’s for only $60. I was so shocked when I found them. I’ve been wanting cowboy boots forever and I couldn’t believe they were under $100 too. That’s a huge steal guys! 😀
3. Accessorize with boho/western style rings
Lately, layering several rings has been trending. I found a pack of three rings at Forever 21 for $5 and I couldn’t be more happier with the look. Accessorizing is really what pulls the whole outfit together. I think these boho, western rings are the perfect way to accessorize a barn wedding outfit. (And you can find really inexpensive ones at Forever 21 like I did! 🙂 )
4. Finish off the look with a western inspired choker
You really can’t complete your look without a choker. Specifically the long faux leather ones like the choker I have on. I found mine at Altar’d State on sale, but I’ll link a couple of others I think would be perfect as well. If you do happen to have an Altar’d State near you, you should totally raid their clearance section in the back. They always have chokers back there for just $15. In case you don’t I think this one, this choker and that one would be perfect.
